So, I am here. I am now offically living in London, England. This is crazy, but the coolest feeling I have felt in a long time. I forgot the love I had for this city and Europe in general. Both of my flights were very smooth, from Seattle to Chicago and then from Chicago to London. I am currently at temporary housing at Clifton Gardens in North London, where I am living in Flat F with 4 other great girls. Everyone is from the east coast, which is a bit different and fun at the same time. Yesterday was a day of grabbing basics, an Oyster Card [bus and tube pass], hair straightener, toothpaste and a towel :) Then we grabbed some food and took it back to Clifton Gardens to eat and chat with other interns. Just from that last night, I know this is going to be a fun year!
I left the downstairs meet-and-greet around 10:30pm because I was completely exhausted and went back to my flat to buy my internet for the week and get my clothes together for the morning. Today was our first day of Orientation with all of Mountbatten employees and interns. There are 128 of us here! Orientation was good, lots of slides about getting around, safety, health insurance, etc. I was so sleepy I kept finding myself falling asleep. After Orientation, I went off in a group to get a uk cell phone number/sim card and now am back at the flat.
