Camden Town & Oxted

So, my first week of work is over and I am really enjoying myself. I am working on putting together a step-by-step guide for any 'new comer' to the team to follow in order to learn about the team, clearing and the systems used. I will be working 11-7 all this upcoming week [which is nice] and hopefully will be clearing trades on my own in no time! I can't explain how good I feel when I am there and understanding things and... it is just really cool.

Saturday was a lazy morning of sleeping in and cleaning my room, then I escaped to Camden Town in London to meet up with the beautiful Kristen [a friend from my sorority in Seattle who is ending her internship in London this coming week]. Camden Town was so cool and reminded me of a place I would love to take my sister. It has an edgy feel, punk-ish maybe... but it basically just filled with markets, stores, food and everything your heart can imagine. Very unique, but has a little bit of everything.. I will label it as a dangerous shopping zone. :) It was so great to see Kristen and catch up with her.

Then it was time to get to the train station to head to another beautiful lady friend, Jenn!! I took the train from London Victoria to Oxted [Jenn's boyfriend [Tom] is from Oxted and works at a pub there called the George]. The train ride was about 30 minutes and in no time I was reunited with Jenn. The weather on Saturday was also way beyond beautiful. My time in Oxted was so great, just getting to catch up with Jenn and Tom and relaxing. Tom's pub is really nice and Tom and Jenn were staying in the apartment above the pub which was really convenient. It was just nice to see familiar faces all of Saturday and truly enjoy a beautiful day in England, makes me so happy to be here!

I took the train back to London on Sunday, the train took a bit longer but I slept and was back in London in 40 minutes. I came back just in time as my friends were heading to the Tiger Beer Singapore Chili Crab Festival. It was pretty simple but the food was amazing. I am amazed and in love with the fact that every weekend there is something going on, markets to go to.. something to do. I got pretty homesick on Sunday night, the weather went from amazing on Saturday to down pours on Sunday. This weather is so similar to Seattle weather that, minus the fact that every one around me has an accent, I really don't feel too far away from home.

xoxo
