Finally Getting A Routine!

This was really the best decision I think I could have made for my post-college experience. I am living in one of the coolest cities, meeting some amazing people and getting the experience of a life-time. I am really just happy with it all!

Until I get put into a shift at work [either 7:30-3:30, 11:30-7:30 or 1:30-9:30] my boss just wants me to come in from 10:00am until about 6:00pm to learn the ropes, which is excellent. Today I had to go though all of these UBS tests and finally completed around 4:30pm and then my boss, Terry, took me to get some coffee. The team is finishing up this 2 year project, so things are a bit hectic with them and it was nice that he took time to sit down with me.

He gave me some great feedback on my interview way back in March and why he picked me for the job. He also discussed in more detail about my year to come. My offical title is Futures Clearing Analyst and I start learning how to do this tomorrow! After a trade is completed by a trader, we see it that second on our screen and we are the ones who have to clear it. This is very exciting as every second something is needing your attention. He also said that I will be going to the Trade Floor to meet the traders because I will be in constant communication with them [via phone or chat]. I will have experience with all of the areas by the end and put into projects probably after 6 months. This is pretty awesome I think :)

He let me get off early as I had a couple errands to run. Still having difficulties with my Llyod's bank account here in the uk so that means still having cellphone difficulties [to get on plans you need to have a uk bank account]. I did get to buy my month long oyster tube/bus pass and get some other basics done with.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!
