Day 4

I am blogging so much now simply because I will probably be having less time to do so later when my work and academics start up! So, enjoy!! :)

Today was great. I slept until 11:00ish, slept almost 12 hours - it was MUCH needed obviously! I took my time getting ready until my new friend Erica [who also does not need start work until Tuesday] came over to my flat. We worked on booking doctor appointments for tomorrow. I decided to go with a Dr. Ruth O'hare and my appointment is tomorrow evening. In the UK, you must 'register' with a doctor [they call GPs] in order to receive any type of health care anytime you are here under HSF. You must go in and see if they will 'accept' you into their practice, so wish me luck!

Erica has never been to London, so I gave her a full on tour. I remembered a lot of the city from my time here in 2007 with Jenn thankfully, so it was great! We took the bus into Central London and hit up a starbucks right away [thanks mom :)]. We walked through Piccadilly Circus, into the park near Buckingham Palace, to Buckingham Palace, through many squares to Convent Gardens, stopped for a sandwich along the way, walked our way to Big Ben and Westminister and onto the Thames River. We went past all of the famous bridges and the London Eye, then ended up at St. Paul's. My feet were dying about this time [around 5 hours later] so we tubed it home to hang out for awhile.

Later, we decided to grab some fish 'n chips at a pub called Duke of York with another friend, Kevin, for a late dinner. It was so good, much better than my first time with the dish down in Brighton for sure! The pub is a block from my soon-to-be location of living so it was nice to walk there and back and see what is around the area.

I need to figure out my UK bank account tomorrow and get my GP appointment over with so it is time for bed. Hope everyone is doing well, pass the link around! The weather today made me miss Seattle so much... and everyone IN Seattle, but I am loving it here. I am that nerd that wakes up every morning with a smile on my face because I am actually here in London. I think I applied to an amazing program.
