Dorset is an area on the coast of Southwest England, very much the English countryside. We stayed at a campsite type of place, with cabins for boys and girls and did most of our 'team building' activities right on the site. The other, much cooler, activities were just a 15 minute drive away - rock climbing, abseiling and the adult play ground called a rope course!! and YES I did all 3 things :) I never think I have a fear of heights.. but the rope course stuff up in the trees really made me nervous. I think it is the lack of self control and putting all trust into others.. but it was so fun/cool. The rock climbing was on the white cliffs of the coast, RIGHT on the water and we had amazingly warm weather to enjoy this all in. One of the course activities was were my team was building a tower with blocks and Meg and myself had to stand on top of the blocks as it went higher and higher into the air. It was so scary, my knees locked at one point. It was pretty great though :) Every night ended with a huge bonfire on the camp place.. it was really a great weekend.
I have the Travel Bug. I can't believe myself.. But, my fall just got a bit more crowded. I just added Prague & Munich to my list!!! If you didn't know, Prague and Munich are the top 2 places on my list.. next Madrid and Paris.. on my list of places I NEED to get to while I am here in Europe. Now, I will be travelling to Prague over Halloween weekend, then Berlin and followed by Munich. Oh my goodness, I am crazy. But, this is why I did this internship - to travel. This will also make my Christmas holiday come SO quick [a.k.a. HOME!!!]. Inbetween there I have a paper on Managing teams due... I will be a busy, but INSANELY happy girl! Life is good :)
Today is my second day with the new team and so far, so good. My team is 4 other girls.. yes, a team of 5 now. But, they are all so sweet, talkative and a lot of fun! This might make working here a lot better. I am learning new UBS systems and I am basically in the Client Service department, in the Core Client team. The thing is the hours.. so long. The day goes by very quickly AND I have a desk directly next to the windows which is nice. Just the hours :-/ we will see... I am working 11am-8pm the next few weeks to get adjusted and used to the systems and to learn as much as possible.
Mel Mel, I hope you had an amazing 28th birthday!!
Miss & Love you all - xoxo
