Happy Birthday to Me!

I am offically 23 years old as of yesterday - wow! :)


My day turned out pretty great for a not so great start to the week. I had a couple tough days at work and I lost my flat keys and things were just not going very well, then my birthday happened! My flatmates, Connie and Neha, baked me a cake and came into my room singing happy birthday with a couple other friends while I was chatting with Casey on the computer.. It was really sweet of them, the cake was so so good [I brought the rest into work yesterday and it was gone before I knew it!!] and they got me some presents. Then I woke up and went into work and it was 'Charity Day' for this company called ICAP. ICAP is located within my building [UBS is only on 2 of the floors, the rest is them] and it was SO crazy outside.


'ICAP – the world’s premier interdealer broker – will hold its 16th annual global Charity Day on Wednesday, 10 December. On this day, all company revenues will be donated to over 100 charities around the world. We can now reveal some of the stars confirmed to make appearances.'


So, it was awesome.. all employees dress up in extreme customes, drink all day and celebrities are in and out of the building! Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore, Anna Kournikova, Prince Harry, Matt Dillon, Joe Montana, etc etc etc were going to all the different floors and coming in and out - it was so cool. With all of this excitement, work was hard to do! Luckily, my tag was pretty relaxed and the work load wasn't too high so I snuck out with a co-worker, Helen, and her sister to a pub for a drink and then another shop for lunch - all the while LOVING every second of being outside, these ICAP people made my day!

I got off work on time and then headed to meet up with Jenn [who I have only seen one other time while being here and it was SO GREAT to see her] and headed to meet up with everyone else at Gourmet Burger Kitchen for dinner. We had 2-for-1 coupons so the meal was so cheap and fun. There was about 12 of us girls and it was fun to see everyone - it had been awhile with all of our constant trips and such. We grubbed on burgers, fries and wine - lasted about 2 hours. Afterwards, I went with Jenn back to Victoria Station to send her on her way on the train and then met up with my flatmates, Connie and Neha, and another intern Melissa in Piccadilly Circus to continue the night. We went to a couple pubs and then ending the night dancing away at Chinawhite. It was a great evening and turned out to be so much fun :) pictures to come!

I am home in 9 days!!!
